About Us
Our program is a collaboration between the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Psychiatry. We are a multi-disciplinary team from a variety of fields, including adolescent medicine, psychology, psychiatry, social work, and nutrition.
An Integrated Multidisciplinary Approach
In 2007, the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Department of Pediatrics joined forces, creating the UCSF Eating Disorders Program. Our patients range from young children to young adults in their mid-twenties. Our goal is to provide the best evidence-based clinical care to individuals with eating disorders. The treatment of eating disorders requires a multidisciplinary approach: medicine, psychiatry, psychology, nutrition, social work, and nursing. Patients receive closely coordinated care among the various specialties. At the UCSF Eating Disorders Program, we take a collaborative team approach.
