Getting Connected

Before scheduling an initial outpatient appointment with our multidisciplinary team, you will need to obtain a referral from your or your child's primary care doctor. Outpatient treatment includes routine office/telehealth visits for medical management, nutrition counseling, and psychotherapy. We do not offer IOP/PHP services. You can contact our Program Coordinator at [email protected] to learn more about our outpatient services. To learn more about our inpatient services, you can refer to our Inpatient Medical Stabilization page.

Initial multidisciplinary assessments, including medical and mental health evaluations, are offered in San Francisco at the Nancy Friend Pritzker Building in Mission Bay (675 18th St., 3rd floor, San Francisco, CA, 94107). Additionally, initial medical evaluations and ongoing medical follow-ups can occur in one of four locations: San Francisco, Marin, Walnut Creek, and Los Gatos (see addresses below). Individual and family therapy is currently only offered in our San Francisco location.

We continue to offer telehealth appointments for a small number of families who are not within commuting distance of the Bay Area. You must have your vitals taken within your primary care doctor's office or another local clinic in order for us to better support your care in a virtual format.

If you are a provider seeking case consultation or are concerned your patient may be a candidate for hospitalization, please call the UCSF Pediatric Access Center at 877-822-4453 and request to speak with an on-call physician from the Eating Disorders Program. For more information about our inpatient service and admission criteria, you can refer to our Inpatient Medical Stabilization page.
